Chậc chậc, tờ New York Times có một bài báo khá dài viết về vai diễn mới nhất của Anna Netrebko: Anna Netrebko’s Bel Canto Moment

Riêng Anna nhận được những dòng bình luận sau:

Trích:
Happily, Ms. Netrebko scored a personal triumph as Anna Bolena, in what may be her greatest achievement since her “Traviata” at the 2005 Salzburg Festival. Anna is a role of unusual seriousness, with practically no moments for sheer vocal display. There are long, spun-out melodies at moments of introspection, such as her Act 2 prayer and the sublime aria “Al dolce giudami.” Here Ms. Netrebko’s characteristically pure, beautifully formed, resonant tones are heard to ravishing effect, and the music is invested with thoughtful phrasing.

She also offers singing that is strong and true in confrontational scenes, among them her intense duet with lady-in-waiting Jane Seymour, during the course of which it emerges that Seymour is her rival. It is sometimes apparent that razor-sharp coloratura is not Ms. Netrebko’s strong suit. But she rises excitingly to the challenge of the fiery closing moments of each of the opera’s two acts. In the second, Anna nominally pardons Henry and his bride, but Donizetti’s music charges the moment with irony. Ms. Netrebko’s gorgeous voice does not easily transform itself into an instrument of vehemence, yet the ill-fated queen’s final utterances seethe with disdain.
